About

An independent studio you can talk to directly.

Raijin Studios is an independent web studio founded by Gary Barnes. We build fast, secure, hand-coded, mobile-first websites for local businesses, and you work directly with the person building yours.

Founder

Gary Barnes

Founder, Raijin Studios

Gary founded Raijin Studios to build the kind of website local businesses deserve: quick to load, hard to hack, easy to use on a phone and fully owned by the business that paid for it. He designs, codes and launches every site himself, so there are no hand-offs between a salesperson, a designer and a developer.

You can reach him directly at [email protected].

The name

Why Raijin?

Raijin is the Japanese god of thunder and lightning. We chose the name because the best websites strike fast: pages that load in a flash, and a clear path from a search to a phone call, booking or order.

Principles

How we work.

Speed

Lean, hand-written code and optimised assets, so pages load quickly even on a weak mobile signal.

Security

Static pages, strict headers, protected forms and no plugins to exploit. Verified by an automated scan on every build.

Honesty

Plain language, fixed quotes and no made-up quotes or numbers. If we are new at something, we say so.

Ownership

You own your domain, code and content from day one. If you ever leave, we hand everything over.

Where we are today

A new studio, with the work to show.

Raijin Studios is new, so we have chosen not to dress that up. Instead of borrowed logos, our work page shows complete concept websites we built for the kinds of businesses we serve, with measured page weights and the details of how each was made.
